REACH CUSTOMER STATEMENT
On 1st June 2007, the new chemical control regulation REACH (Reg. EC 1907/2006) entered into force in the European Union concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals. The intent of REACH is to protect human health and the environment by better managing the risks and placing the responsibility for proof of safety on industry. REACH will apply for all substances manufactured or imported into the EU in quantities of more than one metric tonne.

REACH does not apply to polymers, not isolated intermediate and substances already subjected to other specific regulations (biocides, medical products, foodstuffs for human and animal, etc.). On December 1st, 2009 the period of six months within which it was possible to perform the pre-registration which allows company to enjoy a period of transition in relation to quantities and danger, before the final registration process, ended.

MAFLON ACTIONS FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF REACH
Maflon has fully reviewed its current portfolio of products and set-up an internal team to manage the timely implementation of REACH. Maflon confirm the pre-registration of all the substances for which it has responsibilities and obligations to do so. In particular manufactured substances, imported substances as such and within preparations, monomers of imported polymers and all the monomers used in the production of polymers have been pre-registered, thus covering all products marketed by Maflon. We have received confirmation from the European
Chemicals Agency (ECHA) confirms that all Maflon substance pre-registrations have been accepted. The registration of these substances will depend on a number of factors beyond the control of Maflon and/or on Safety, Health and Environment or business related considerations. Maflon is working closely with its customers and suppliers to gather all of the required information on the product necessary for the future registration. As part of this process, Maflon is also responding to customer enquiries to assist with their own REACH preparation.
We will continue to keep you informed of our progress and appreciate your cooperation and support in helping us to, together, successfully implement the REACH requirements. Should you require further information or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our Maflon Sales Manager or our REACH Manager.
